"....at the moment of your death you will not be sorry for the things that you have done incorrectly, as you will for the things that you wanted to do but never did"- Dr Robert Anthony

What is the difference between life coaching and counselling/therapy?

Life coaching is very different from counselling/therapy. Coaching doesn't delve about in your past. Coaching occurs in the present (just as life does). It focuses on acceptance of what is in a person's life now, and assists the client to move forward from this position, giving them the tools to reach their objectives for the future of their choice.

Exactly what is a coach?

"A  Coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has you see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could." (Tom Landy)

A Life Coach closes the gap between thinking about doing and actually doing.

Life coaching conjures up images of kaftan-wearing, lentil-eating hippies.

That's curious, because when I think of Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Hilary Clinton, George Clooney (to name but a few!) most of today's top sports people including Tiger Woods (but the less said about that the better!!!) top CEO'S etc etc, I don't think of the above. In fact I think of success, motivation, high achievers/peak performance, self empowerment, not to mention oodles of money! Actually Oprah Winfrey was recently named in Fortune magazine as the richest and most influential woman in America. She has had a coach (Dr Phil) for the last 15 years. Is there not  a lesson to be learnt here?

Coaching is not cheap

A coaching session will cost less than a good night out (which you most probably won't even remember in the morning!) and certainly less than a killer pair of heels!  Coaching will help you get where you want to go, and to have what you want in life.  What's the price tag on that?

Can't I just get advice and talk over my problems with my friends?

Yes, of course you can. But you are never going to get the objectivity you will get from a coach, who works 100% from your agenda, who listens without judgement, who sees where you sell yourself short and who pushes you to your full potential. A coach will challenge you to do more, will expect you to remain accountable for your progress, will ask you the questions family and friends may not have the courage or foresight to ask, and will press for the truth and not just the quick answer.

It all feels a bit too touchy-feely for me.

Trust me-it's far from this.Coaching is practical, pragmatic and results-orientated; Results! Results! Nothing but results!

I don't think it will work for me.

Well, the answer is try it and see. Your first telephone consultation (approx. 30 minutes) is free. This way we can see if the relationship will work for both of us (rapport and connection is imperative in this industry). Before actually speaking on the phone you could e-mail with any particular questions to get a flavour of the kind of support you could have.

How does it work?

Each coaching session is done over the phone, or by Skype (which is now used by about 99% of clients). Each session lasts between 60-75 minutes, and the coaching sessions take place however frequently the client wishes. I don't tie you into a contract. Whatever works best for you, works for me

My complete coaching/self-development programme (which consists of 13 sessions) lasts approximately 6 months, but this is flexible.Clients can dip in and out of the programme or adapt it more to their needs as appropriate. This seems to be an ideal time-frame within which to set short-term and achieveable goals; goals which are not so far in the future they seem unachieveable.

Why don't you give the first session free, as many coaches do?

I learnt very early on in my practise that when you use the word 'free', or offer free sessions, you attract freeloaders, not customers; people who have no intention of investing in themselves, but who just want a "free lunch". Hence, I stopped offering a free session, and realised that people who REALLY want to invest in change, will buy into the programme irresepctive of whether there is a free session or not. These are the only people I am interested in working with.

Your first telephone consultation  (of 30 minutes) is FREE! and I will cover the costs of all international telephone communication.  Thereafter, coaching sessions are costed as follows:

Ad-hoc sessions:  95.00 GBP (Pounds Sterling) /60 minutes

3 month programme: If you sign up/pay for, in advance, a 3 month programme which is 4 sessions/month X 3, you receive 2 sessions with a 25% discount.

6 month programme: If you sign up/ pay for, in advance a 6 month programme which is 4 sessions/month x 6, you receive 3 sessions with a 50% discount

All e-mail and telephone support between sessions (if needed by the client) is  FREE! So what have you got to lose?
